New perspectives. A pretty tight crop of a huge aerial panorama. Swipe to see the whole scene (still not even the full pano). Can you spot where the second image is located?

Edited with one of the glacier presets in my WINTE
During daytime you can mostly only see the lava that's spewing from the fissures and vague streams running here and there. It's definitely very impressive but as it gets dark on the other hand, the whole lava field starts lighting up and you realise
Zoom in and see the snow dancing above the hot lava, almost completely melted before they hit the surface and make a subtle hissing sound. Happy about spring/summer but grateful I got to experience these exact opposites meet. You think it will still
How many craters can you count? 🌋

PS. Thank you all for the response to the NEW EARTH volcano print collection. Every order so far will be printed and shipped tomorrow morning and the 30% discount is valid until next Friday using the code "NEW
VOLCANO PRINTS / LAUNCH SALE (30% off). I just launched a new limited edition print series: NEW EARTH. There have been many requests for prints from the eruption but I didn‘t want to rush it. After multiple days and nights I‘m finally hap
Seismic activity continues. The weeks before the eruption there were over 50.000 earthquakes in the region. After the eruption they basically stopped and it felt like all major tension had been released - until last night. Just before midnight we had
Our bonfire grows bigger. I've never seen so many families go on the hike with their children to experience the volcano in the dark. There were many tired legs that had to make their way back but just as many smiling faces. It's a beautiful thing! Sw
The show goes on. It's hard to keep up with the new fissures opening up but going there again tonight to see how it looks at the moment. Stay tuned! Here's an ice cold sunrise view in the meantime 🌋 swipe for the pano.

Feeling the heat. It‘s unreal how hot it gets within a few meters of the edge of the lava. Probably shouldn‘t come as a surprise but still a very special experience going from shivering cold to sweating in a matter of seconds.

Into the fire. The family keeps growing with the fourth fissure opening up last night. It's strange to think that news about "new volcanic fissures" opening up might soon become a pretty standard thing here in Iceland. But it's 2021 so what
Been getting some questions about how they‘re located in relation to one another. The first picture shows the original one up close (it's actually huge, took the photo almost directly above to show the inside of the craters), the youngest one i
MERGE | rivers of Iceland. As a tiny relief from all the volcano content I just published a new series on Behance showing a few highlights from one of my most memorable adventures to date. Go check it out via the link in my bio or story.

Flying over a volcano. These shots were taken from a plane early this morning. It's incredible to see how much of the valley has actually been filled with lava by now. It's not long since you could stand right next to the volcano which has now grown
How hot do you think that is?

When you finally manage to take your eyes of the erupting volcano itself, you start seeing all these amazing details. Here and there along the (now very high) wall of solidifed lava you'll find these small holes that se
A few shots from last night by the volcano. It has changed immensely in only a few days now and grown way bigger. I think my favourite time of day to experience it has to be the night time - even though every part of my body disagrees. The magma turn
The ICE-SAR are the real MVPs of this eruption (and pretty much in general). Since day one they been making sure the area is as safe as it can be, day and night, putting their own health at risk for other people‘s safety.

The beauty about these abstract takes on the volcano is that almost every one of them is pretty much unique. The site is constantly changing, minute by minute.

I just published a new series on Behance, NEW EARTH. With some images from the eruptio
Been melting my drone over the eruption site for the last few days, watching how the bottom sensors looks worse and worse after each flight. That's tellong me I'm going pretty much as close as I can - good news!

I've been asked why I keep going back
