One of the questions I get asked the most is related to the equipment I use. I started my career using a cheap 12MP camera and a few lenses. I even photographed for a whole book using that camera alone. That showed me that gear isn’t everything - composing and capturing is what matters most. That being said, I still believe the quality of your gear is highly important and having reliable cameras and fast lenses can definitely help us get the images we want. So my general advice is always to assess ones needs (it’s good to think 2-3 years ahead) and then buy the best gear my budget allows. Through trial and error over the years I’ve slowly grown my lineup of equipment and currently I couldn’t be more satisfied with it. So here we go, a breakdown of all the gear I use and recommend and some thoughts on each item.
